Filipino Friday: Kids and Books

What were your favorite books as a kid? Do you still read children’s books? If you would give a book to your younger self, what would it be?

My hands-down favorite is Childcraft volume 3, Children Everywhere! It's the one with short stories from different countries. My favorite stories from it:

The book I'd give to my younger self is this:
Friends gave this book to our daughter as a gift, and it's one of the first books she really, really liked. We'd read it to her, and she would say, "Again!" If we happened to quote a line from the story (because we eventually memorized it), she'd perk up and ask us to read the book again. She has since moved on to The Hungry Caterpillar and Dear Zoo, but this holds a special place in my heart now, and I think the younger me would have liked it too.

  1. Ok, I literally got the chills when I read this haha. I love that book! It was one of my favorites in the Childcraft series. I love the story of Nils Karlsson, the Twelve Months, Three Wishes... I am sad that my uncle's copies got lost in Ondoy, because they were just wonderful to read.

    1. I don't know what happened to my original copy, but was able to find one in Book Sale! That's actually where the pics are from. I wish you a Book Sale find in the future. :)

    1. I think there's still Childcraft, but it might be different from this "classic" edition. :) Book Sale is our best bet! Will post if I see it!

    1. What! Wait - you should check it out if you see it! It was such a part of my childhood! (It was a multi-volume set, with books about animals, and planets, etc etc)
